Our Mission
We are a different type of business. We are a ministry of the Rescue Mission of El Paso. Our mission at Rescue Industries is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to advance the Kingdom of God, and to support and equip God’s children by providing employment and job skills training.
Our Purposes
RESCUE Industries exists to:

Our History
The Rescue Mission of El Paso is a nonprofit homeless shelter founded in 1952 to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the homeless. Many people are homeless because of physical or mental disabilities which prevent them from entering gainful employment. But, most of the homeless people we encounter at the Rescue Mission are homeless because of the choices they have made in life. Since a person’s choices are determined by the condition of the heart, we firmly believe that the greatest remedy for homelessness is the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our People
About 30% of the homeless population suffer from an addiction to alcohol or illegal drugs. To meet this need the Rescue Mission offers a 13-week drug and alcohol rehabilitation program which ministers to about 40 homeless people each year. Graduates of that program are then offered employment through Rescue Industries. One hundred percent of the employees of Rescue Industries, including its managerial staff, are hired from the homeless population.
Many of the new workers at Rescue Industries have not had the benefit of long-term employment. Some of them do not know how to work. The task of Rescue Industries is to train those people in basic employment skills while offering support and encouragement in their fragile sobriety. All of the Rescue Mission is a drug and alcohol-free environment. A person entering employment with Rescue Industries discovers a place of understanding and support where all of the fellow workers have been homeless and have found a new freedom from the chains of addiction.
We teach all of the workers coming into Rescue Industries that the way out of homelessness is by making a perfect product. The secret to our success was actually broadcast by the Apostle Paul over 1900 years ago. Paul wrote, “Whatever your task, work heartily, as serving the Lord and not men.” (Col. 3:23) When our workers realize that they are working for Jesus instead of an earthly paycheck, quality of the end product excels beyond comparison.
