The Gang at Rescue Industries

Their Stories:

SamI'm not a street person; I was a functioning alcoholic.  I spent 18 years as a production manager.  When my alcoholism became obvious to my employer, he was forced to terminate me.  I received my 401K money and went wild.  But MONEY runs out, and mine did.  I arrived at the RESCUE Mission a broken-down, totally humiliated man with no place to sleep but the floor of the chapel (thank God for the carpet).  The next day I helped picking up mats, sweeping floors, and in the kitchen.  I asked my sister for help, and with love, she turned me down.  On the second day at the RESCUE Mission, I got down on my knees and prayed to God for Forgiveness and Salvation.                          As it turned out...WOW.  The following day I was given a job, enrolled in the rehabilitation program, and slept in a real bed.  I now work in the furniture factory and preach the word of God every day within the prayer group there.  We have at the RESCUE Mission of El Paso...GRACE, LOVE, FAITH, HOPE, SALVATION (JESUS CHRIST), EACH OTHER, and most of all POWER of PRAYER. Sam

Jimmy ScottOver the past 2 1/2 years, it has been my  privilege to work at the RESCUE Mission woodshop.  During this time, I have not only  been a teacher, but I have become a  student.  Working with people and overcoming addictions is a challenging job, but it is also very rewarding.  To actually feel the presence of God in molding his lost children back into society through the Mission's various programs is a feeling beyond compare.  You see I was one of those children.  Furniture is only a by-product of our Ministry.  Good employees with new life goals is our purpose. Carmen SanchezThere is a deadly disease that all to often is not regarded as such, the disease of    alcoholism and drug addition.  My name is    Carmen, and I'm a survivor.  Thanks to God and the Rescue Mission's Relapse Prevention Program I have been drug free for four years.  For many years I battled with drug addiction.  I lost my children, my home, my  job, and my dignity to drugs.  My oldest daughter told me about the Rescue Mission's Relapse Prevention Program.  It is a Christ-centered recovery program which gave me new hope.  Upon completion I had guaranteed employment at their furniture factory.  This job gave me my dignity back.  I recovered my kids, have a home and love life.  God is present at the RESCUE Mission; I see a new  miracle every day.  Thank you Jesus for that second chance.  Carmen Sanchez
